One of the best exercises for your heart is walking. Even just a small amount of walking each day can be beneficial. If you haven't exercised much for a period of time it's best to start off slow, maybe a relaxing stroll to the local shops, or a small walk round the block.
Maybe set yourself goals, walk on different types or terrain, for example one day you could do a flat path walk, yet another day you may wish to be more adventurous and do some hill or even mountain walking.
Walking is not only good for your heart but it is also good for mental health as it can promote a sense of well being.
