The room depicted in the painting is Vettriano’s
studio in the Georgian Townhouse in Edinburgh in

seven inspired by Malcolm Campbell’s life and
the Bluebird cars with which he broke successive
land-speed records in the 1930s. Vettriano was
commissioned to produce this series of paintings
in 1996 and they now hang in The Bluebird Club
in London.
